Name: Brand Stempien
Date of Birth:
Height: 5' 5"
Characteristic elements: Short, with a baby face.
Brand had been a prodigy. He was mechanically inclined, and had received a engineering degree by the time he was 14. He now holds two masters, and is working on a doctorate. For some reason, all he really wanted to do was work on starships. This meant, of course, Starfleet. At least, to him, it did. During college, he was in the officer candidacy program, for longer than most were due to his age. When he turned 18, he joined, and had the standard credit for college, passed training well enough (he was a bit lacking in the physical department), and is only waiting for confirmation of his commission. Unfortunately, it seems Starfleet would rather make sure he is mature enough to actually handle an officer position...Career
Formal education and brilliant research in the civilian world, with almost no career at all (yet) in the military.

Brand tossed his duffle on the bed, and looked around. It was really quite similar to a college dorm room. He quickly unpacked, dumping his uniforms on one shelf, his civilian clothes and sundries on another, and his data storage and books on the remaining two. He had most of his books stored for him, but just a few of his favorites came along.
He grabbed one of his mempacks, stuck it into his PADD, and headed toward engineering. "Sorry," he mumbled to the crewman he bumped into as he was walking along, reading without watching where he was going. He got to engineering, and walked over to the warp core. He began pulling up diagnostic, and comparing it to some statistics he had up on his PADD.
"Excuse me," someone who sounded annoyed asked from directly behind him. As he looked up, they continued, "I asked you, who are you, and what are you doing here?"
"Hmm?" he asked, preoccupied and not paying much attention. "Oh. Oh! Yes, sorry. I forgot to report in... I need to report in first, I was just too excited to actually work on an actual starship..."
